How To Fire Up Your Woodfired Pizza Oven
Light your fire around one hour before you plan to start cooking.
Use kiln-dried wood which is non-treated
Use a natural firelighter, and place in the centre of the oven surrounded with stacked kindling.
Light the firelighter and as the fire grows slowly feed the fire with more kindling
As the oven starts to approach a high temperature, add small logs
Once a good heat has been achieved move the embers and flames towards the side of the oven
Keep the fire going by adding small pieces of firewood.
Cooking Delicious Wood Fired Pizzas
Flour the peel
Make sure the pizza is not too big for the peel.
Slide the pizza directly from the peel onto the oven base
The crusts will start to puff up immediately.
Keep checking the dough nearest the fire as it may burn or catch fire.
Turn the pizza after about 30 seconds to prevent burning.
Then Take your pizza out by sliding the peel underneath it.
Sit back and enjoy!
