MOON is engineered for versatility, allowing you to burn either wood logs or high-quality ENplus/DINplus-certified pellets. When using pellets, the fire is not only powerful but also significantly cleaner and smoke-reduced, making it ideal for modern outdoor living where comfort matters.

Step 1:

Fill the MOON with pellets, leaving the perforated circle below the opening free (approx. 10-12 kg of pellets).

Step 2:

Place 2-3 pieces of kindling wool on top of the pellets.

Step 3:

Moisten the wool and the pellets with höfats bioethanol gel fuel.

Step 4:

Light the wool, watch the pellets start to burn and after a few minutes you will see the fascinating play of flames.

When using pellets, the fire is more sensitive to wind than when using firewood. In both cases, however, the fire can easily be rekindled.

If a gust of wind extinguishes the fire and turns the flames to smoke, take your barbecue or fire tongs, grab a firelighter and light it.

Place the burning firelighter in your MOON fire basket. This will reignite the fire and make the smoke disappear in no time..

Smokeless fire

MOON sets new standards with its wood gasification technology. Rising wood particles are burnt in a second combustion stage, so there is virtually no smoke. This means no unpleasant odours and no complaints from the neighbours!

A cosy garden party or a casual lounge evening? It’s up to you with a choice of stands. Choose between an elevated stainless steel stand or a low cast iron stand to add the perfect touch to your ambience. MOON is the first höfats fire basket that can do both! You can either heat MOON with firewood for that traditional campfire feeling or you can choose pellets to keep the fire basket burning for up to two hours without interruption, smoke-free and without refuelling.
